Recipe Time!

Welcome to the part of the blog where we pretend to know what we’re doing in the kitchen. If you’ve been around a while, you already know that Ryan is the real chef in this family (and Emmy our baker)! We’re just over here doing our best bringing you realistic, easy meals (and not burning anything in the process). Some of these recipes are family favorites that have been passed down, and a few are ones we’ve found and loved. They’re not all fancy, but they’re real, made-from-the-heart kind of good. So grab that spatula and enjoy a few of our favorite recipes!

If you give any of these recipes a try, we’d love to see! Tag me when you post (@the.cortneyspencer) whether it’s a kitchen win, a family favorite, or a little bit of both! We always have fun seeing these recipes come to life in your homes!

The chili that started it all! Papa Harris took home first place in the family cook-off with this one and he hasn’t stopped bragging about it since!
The sugar cookies that set the standard. Perfectly soft, just the right amount of sweet, and impossible to eat only one. We’ve tested that theory… several times.
We can’t take credit for this one but we sure can share it! Nestlé did all the work on this chocolate chip cookie recipe. Classic & 100% foolproof.
Family favorite alert! Perfect for those nights you want something free without a lot of fuss! This is one of my go-tos.
Campfire magic in a sandwich! Pudgie pies cooked over the fire are cripsy, melty, and totally delicious! This is our pizza variation but there are endless combos to create!
A little spice, a whole lot of flavor! These Southwest Quesadillas are cheesy, crispy, and packed with all the good stuff!
A Ryan special, the dip that brings just the right amount of kick! Perfect with chips, veggies or straight off the spoon (we won’t judge).
Comfort food at its finest. Layers of noodles, sauce, and melty cheese. Basically a pizza in disguise, and my families not mad about it.
The ultimate appetizer! A bit of spice, cheese, and perfectly bite-sized. Warning: once you start, you won’t stop.

Check back soon!! This post will keep growing as we continue to add more of our tried-and-true family recipes. Because let’s be honest, there’s always something new cooking around here!
